408. The marriage record from the villages of Zarzece and Błonie małe

In the year as above, on the eleventh day of November. Before us, Tomasz Witoń appeared, a bachelor, twenty five years old according to the certificate extracted from the Registers of the parish church in Miechocin located in the Austrian Galicia, he was born in the village of Chmielów in the Austrian Galicia in the Rzeszów province in the parish of Miechów [? – should be Miechocin?], and now resides in the village of Zarzece Wiejskie in the parish of Koprzywnica in the county of Staszów in the Province of Sandomierz, he is in service as a farmhand, a son of Walenty and Małgorzata married couple with two last names Siekiera Witoń, now residing in the village of Chmielów in the Austrian Galicia on a farm; he appeared in the presence of Wojciech Sad, his acquaintance and a farmer [for whom he works?] who resides on a farm in the village of Zarzece Wiejskie because the Father of the said Tomasz Witoń was unable to assist his son due to the distance of his residence, and his mother is deceased already. Also appeared Miss Regina Sadowna [Sad] from the village of Zarzece Wiejskie, a daughter of Wincenty and Małgorzata married couple with two last names Kolasz and Sad, formerly residing in the village of Zarzece Błonie małe on a farm; she is assisted by her mother, just mentioned above, because the Father of the said Regina Sadowna was not present at the marriage ceremony; she is twenty one years old according to the certificate extracted from the Registers of the Koprzywnica parish church. The appearing parties demand that we proceed with the celebration of the marriage that was arranged between them, the banns of which have been issued before the main doors of our district house, to wit the first one on the twenty ninth day of October, and the second one on the fifth day of November in the current year at twelve o’clock noon. When no impediment to the said marriage arose, having read the aforementioned documents from which it appears that all formalities prescribed by the law have been observed, acceding to the above mentioned demand, after reading to the parties and witnesses all aforementioned documents as well as Chapter Six of the Civil Code, in the section on marriage, we asked the future husband and the future wife whether they wished to be wed, to which each of them responded separately that such is their desire, we proclaim in the name of the law that Tomasz Witoń, a bachelor, and Regina Sadowna, a maiden, both from Zarzece Wiejskie, are joined in the bonds of marriage. We drew up a record of all this in the presence of Wojciech Sad, thirty eight years old, as well as Jan Żołnowski, thirty years old, both peasants and witnesses for Tomasz Witoń, both residing in Zarzece Wiejskie on farms; and from the bride’s side in the presence of Mateusz Kętacz [?], a maternal uncle of the bride, forty five years old, residing in the village of Gnieszowice in the parish of Koprzywnica, as well as Jacenty Gałka, also the witness for the same Regina, he is fifty years old and resides in the village of Zarzece Wiejskie on a farm. This record was read to the declarants and it was signed by us because the persons mentioned in this record are unable to write. [signature]
