When I started researching family history in 1991, I documented birth, baptism, death and burial dates and places. It was a good place to start, but left out the stories about our ancestors and their lives in the places they lived.
This blog is about the information I gathered and the stories I found researching family history. It is written from the point of view of my sisters and myself, who share the same ancestry. If you are a relative, then some parts of it pertain to you as well.
Please comment on any blog post you find interesting. Although I cite sources, I do leave out information that does not lend itself to the flow of the story. It might be something that you might want to know, though, so please ask. I respond to comments!
This blog is called “My Family History Research” because I have no imagination. 🙂 When I started posting online, I asked myself what I would write about, and to my surprise, “My Family History Research” had not yet been claimed.
Comment on any individual posts you would like. Please let me know what you like and do not like about this blog, and any questions you may have!

Hi,
I found your site this week. My great-great-grandmother was born in Gnieszowice. I have some questions to you. Please let me know on my mail.
Best wishes

Paweł, it was good to exchange information with you. We are related through my grandmother’s cousin, whose mother was Jadwiga Duma. I wrote about the “Family of Maryanna Witoń Solowski.” I also heard from a researcher about Andrzej Skrok, from Krzcin, Koprzywnica, who immigrated to Brooklyn, New York. We’ve shared notes, and I hope to include the story here. Kind regards!
